Tomorrow morning new parts arrive and I will prepare for the last push to the end of the continent. I have 3-4 days to Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego then I will be Canada bound. The best airport for flights back is Buenos Aires Argentina. I am tan, skinny, bandaged, and flat broke…but on the positive side i’ve made it through South America in much better shape then the KLR.

Interesting facts about Ushuaia that make it such a desirable tourist destination (from wikipedia):

During the first half of the 20th century, the city centered around a prison built by the Argentine government to increase the Argentine population here and to ensure Argentine sovereignty over Tierra del Fuego.[6][7] The prison was intended for repeat offenders and serious criminals, following the example of the British in Tasmania and the French in Devil’s Island.[8]

Over the next 560km there are massive glaciers, migrating orca whales, penguins and icy roads i’m pumped.

Driving is very difficult in Pantagonia…. i found myself yelling like a banshee at the wind…IS THAT ALL YOU GOT! when the road finally turned downwind it was pure bliss….. like floating in a quiet bubble haha more text to come. Im currently In Calafate waiting a couple days for parts before visiting the perito moreno glacier. the largest non receding glacier in the world.
